SALARY RANGE: $54,560 - $73,205

 

Ad Valorem - 2.40 parish property (ad valorem) tax mills are dedicated to employee salaries.  The annual receipts from this tax are distributed to employees twice a year, one-half in January and one-half in June. The amount of each employee’s supplement is the employee’s salary multiplied by the annual percentage (computed each year base on actual tax revenues).

 

Early Childhood Special Education Teacher (ECSE)

 

The ECSE Teacher will provide developmentally appropriate instruction, assessment and program planning for special education students in prekindergarten and kindergarten; monitor and evaluate student progress and behavior;  obtain and provide instructional materials for special education services; serve as an informational resource for students, parents, and may work within an inclusive or self-contained classroom environment.

 

            Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education from an accredited university or college
  • Valid LA teaching certificate:  Preferred Early Childhood Intervention.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and intervention techniques.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities and their families

  • High level of empathy and compassion.
